Grand Opening: The Saving Grace Shop

HOW THE SAVING GRACE SHOP STARTED

A few years ago, I opened an Etsy shop and began creating digital Bible studies and a few related faith-based products. I had been sharing reading plans here on the blog, and decided to format them into full-fledged workbooks that I then listed on Etsy. Sales were slow and intermittent, but I enjoyed writing them so I kept doing so.

After a while, I felt led to design various Bible study notepads – double-sided, cute designs, sized to fit inside your Bible. I made 5 variations and ordered a few of each one. And they sat on the shelf without a single sale for over a year.

Then, in late May 2025, things changed. Here’s the quick breakdown of what happened:

• Early May 2025: I quit my part-time job working for a Christian non-profit organization because it was a very toxic work environment, and the Holy Spirit was really pushing me to trust Him and walk away, so I did. Financially, it was terrifying because I had mountains of debt and that was my only paycheck.
• Late May 2025: The Holy Spirit told me to start sharing the Bible on TikTok. I had done a few videos here and there, but He told me to just jump in with both feet – share what I know, be encouraging, teach people how to study the Bible. So I did. I had roughly 325 followers at that time.
• Early June 2025: People starting following me on TikTok, leaving comments, sharing my videos, AND buying my products. I started getting requests for printed versions of my digital products, so I started figuring out the printing process.
• Mid-June 2025: I had a full-blown panic attack about money. I went to my office/Bible study room, prayed about it, journaled about it…I wrote out Matthew 6:24-34 and listened to worship music and cried and prayed. The next morning, I woke up to tiny miracles (I call them God winks) giving me reassurance that God would take care of me.

THEN….the bottom fell out.

Very shortly after that night of surrender, I had massive fraud on my account. I lost every penny. The money I had set aside to pay bills was completely gone. The bank said they couldn’t prove it was fraud (even though it was evident) so they wouldn’t give me my money back.

After a momentary freak-out and hysterical crying on the floor, I remembered my surrender. I remembered God. And I let it go. I surrendered again.

AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED?

Within TWO WEEKS, the sales in my Etsy shop more than covered every penny that was stolen, and it has continued to grow ever since then.

I went from around 325 followers in June to over 20,000 followers by Christmas. My business took off. I created new products. Those notepads that sat on my shelf forever? I’ve had to reorder them A LOT – they’ve sold out repeatedly. Instead of ordering 12 notepads at a time, I now order 100+ of each one.

HOW THE SAVING GRACE SHOP IS GOING

In October, I created a Loaded Bible Kit™️ that comes with a new Guided Bible Study and all the things you need to build a loaded Bible – a Bible filled with margin notes, highlights, cross-references, etc. I created a preorder expecting to sell 30-50 kits.

I SOLD 300 and had to shut down the preorder because I couldn’t get enough inventory to handle the orders.

And it just kept going.

I outgrew my home office before Christmas, so I started trying to determine the next step of this journey. And let me tell you – coming from someone who has tried so hard to make several businesses work only to fall flat on my face over and over again, trusting a successful business to stay successful is a scary thing. But I trust God.

The building where I go to get my hair done used to be a retail boutique and has been empty for a long time. My hairdresser was looking for a tenant to sublease the storefront part of the space, and the rent she was charging was insanely cheap compared to everywhere else in the area. It worked out perfectly!

I got to work making it my own, ordering inventory – YAY Bibles! – and doing all of the legal stuff to open a storefront. On February 18, 2026 – the first day of Lent – I opened my doors to the public.

The community has been absolutely incredible. The other business owners have been super supportive as well. It’s such a sweet, charming little community full of the nicest people!

This past Saturday, on March 7th, we hosted our Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting with the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce surrounded by my family, close friends, and fellow business owners. It was such a fun day!
